Woman hurt in Sunnyside crash

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — A woman was taken to the hospital after a two-car crash in Sunnyside this afternoon.

The incident happened in front of the Staten Island Physician Practice at 1050 Clove Rd. at approximately 3 p.m.

The woman was driving her Jeep on Clove toward the Staten Island Expressway when a Chevrolet Malibu driven by a 62-year-old male traveling in the opposite direction attempted to make a left turn into the Physician Practice parking lot, the driver of the Malibu told the Advance.

The cars collided and the Jeep flipped onto its passenger side.

Emergency officials could be seen strapping her to a stretcher at the scene.

The woman’s injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

“As I was waiting for my aunt in the parking lot, from a short distance, I heard a loud bang,” said Brian Lang,20, of Eltingville.
